💜 Celebrating Inclusion: A Mother’s Reflection on the Purple Parade

At HFSE International School, education has always been about more than academics, it’s about shaping hearts and nurturing empathy. This year’s Purple Parade, Singapore’s movement to support inclusion and celebrate persons with disabilities, reminded the HFSE community of what it truly means to live out the school’s vision of being an International School for All.

For HFSE’s Founder and CEO, Ms. Ninalyn Arciaga Sulit-Cacananta, the experience was deeply personal. Though she is not a mother of a child in the spectrum, she shared how important it is for parents to raise children who understand, include, and celebrate others’ differences.

During the event, her daughter’s curiosity sparked meaningful conversation.

“Why are we celebrating?”
“Who are they cheering for?”

These simple yet profound questions opened a window to learning, one that extended beyond books and classrooms. When her daughter asked to stay a little longer for the post-parade concert, Ms. Nina smiled, knowing that curiosity was blossoming into compassion.

Moments like these reflect the essence of HFSE’s advocacy, to nurture learners who not only think critically but also feel deeply. The school’s commitment to inclusivity extends to every programme, ensuring that each child, regardless of ability or background, is valued and supported.

At HFSE International School, inclusion is not just an event to celebrate once a year — it’s a daily practice embedded in every lesson, activity, and interaction. It’s about teaching kindness, patience, and understanding, the true marks of global citizenship. 🌍✨

As the HFSE community joins hands with the Purple Parade movement, it reaffirms its mission to create a world and a school where every child can learn, lead, and love without limits.

Majulah. Mabuhay. For All.

When their son couldn’t secure a local school placement, they turned adversity into purpose, founding HFSE to support homeschooling families in Singapore.
