Parents of Charles and James Brown, HFSEans since 2024
Our sons Charles (8) and James (7) joined HFSE in April 2024 mid-year after term 1 from a local a school. We were planning to move them in January 2025, having found out about HFSE by pure coincidence from a carousel seller whose son was starting in January 2025.
We were attracted to the school because our sons are Filipino/British and the school offers an international school education at a very reasonable price with Christian values and education, an education similar to that which we, the parents received in Philippines and UK
Charles had a bad experience at his previous school which causes him to become very introverted at school, although at home he was his usual happy self. This was the catalyst for the move. The boys were welcomed by all the teachers at HFSE with open loving arms and Charles was given unrestricted access to one teacher he could approach at any time for any matter which really helped him to settle in and all other teachers and his peers have consistently encouraged him to participate and gradually he found his voice and confidence and now, eight months later, his school self is a transformed self and we are most grateful to the staff and kids of HFSE for that.
We, and I think Charles’ teachers were surprised when he put himself forward to represent the class in the school fashion show to wear a themed costume in Singapore colours on the runway in front of the whole school, just a few months after joining HFSE.
As a family we made a costume for Charles to model, and he was great and ended up as the winner. He was so chuffed, and we and his friends and teachers too were proud of him.
James too has had a great 8 months at HFSE and has made many close friends and really enjoys going to school
